Letter to Client:

Hello,

My name is Amy Norris and I am a student at Sunderland College who has been tasked with making a documentary. The aim of this documentary is to engage young people and to encourage them to think about the impact of the digital age on modern society, and to highlight what defines that culture, and talk about my own experiences with it and other people who identify with it.

When choosing an idea for this documentary, I decided to go with one about video games. Basically, most young people play video games nowadays, to the point where video games have become a daily part of their lives, and i thought it would be interesting to talk about the impact video games have had on us and society.

Also, i enjoy playing video games myself, which means that i could easily talk about my own experiences while gaming and experiences i had/have with the gaming community. Because i’m active in the gaming community, i also know other people who enjoy playing video games, which means getting other opinions won’t be difficult.

Video games have had an undeniable impact on our society, so much so that they are, for example, used in education. Games such as Brain Age can help teachers and students communicate to each other better, and can be much more interesting and engaging then just normal teaching.

Production for this documentary would probably only take about 1 or 2 weeks, depending on how much and how fast i could get the writing aspects of it done (like the script) and whether i can use the proper equipment or not.

Overall, i could talk about the effects video games have on young people and our brains, my own experiences with playing video games, other peoples experiences, how video games have been implemented into our daily lives, how they have changed the way we do things, and how they have changed our society.
